My Brother George M Bedinger, has been detained at Kentuckey on business of a Publick Nature, and has not yet arrived here: I have however communicated to him by Letters, the transactions as far as could be done respecting the settlement made with you in April in Captain Van Swearingens Company U S Levies &c – Your require that Eight Dollars may be stopped out of Dennis Murphy’s pay. Also Six Dollars & 33 Cents of John Weise, which shall be attended to when they apply,
Immediately on the arrival of yours I communicated the contents to Lieutenant Rawleigh Morgan who happened to be in Town, he acknowledged the having RuS the money charged him by Majr Caleb Swan as stated in your Letter but he objects to the settlement made with you by Col Darke & myself, and says he will attend personally in August or September for a resettlement of his own & Capt Swearingens accounts to whom he is an executor - Add to this, I paid him the full amount of the balance of his pay as per account 181.79 Dolls Cents - immediately after my Return as per Receipt of 20th April 1792 now in my possession - Many of the individuals of the Company have applied for their money - expect that by the time limitted, for a settlement with you, there will be very little remaining in my hands.
