And I do hereby authorize and impower the Said William Lane — his heirs and assigns, to Sollicit and take in his or their names, and to his or their proper use and behoof, the patents to be issued on the aforesaid Warrants or Lands, returned to the board of Treasury or elsewhere; and for a further consideration to me in hand paid, by the above named William Lane I Do hereby authorize and impower the said [undecipherable] of his heirs or assigns, to demand or receive all my pay or arearages of Pay due to me as a Soldier aforesaid, from the United States or the State of Pennsylvania and to give receipts or receipts, for the same, and to do all lawful acts and things, necessary for effecting the same as fully and absolutely to all intents and purposes, as I might or could do, were I personally present, at the office or elsewhere, and done this [undecipherable], as Witness whereof, are hereunto set my hand and seal.
