Know all Men by these Presents, That I
Cornelius Brown late a soldier in the Second Regiment of the Pennsylvania line
in the Service of the United States of America, for a valuable and full Consideration to me in Hand paid, as at Present, Do grant, bargain, sell, release, transfer and assign unto him, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns for ever: All the Rights, Title, Interest, Property, Claim and Demand, which I now have, or at any time hereafter bates, may, at any Time hereafter have, to all and singular the Lands, Pay, Arrearages of Pay, Clothing, Rations, Rewards, Bounties, Gratuities, and all other due and owing to me, from the United States, or from any particular State. And I do hereby for myself, my Heirs, Executors and Administrators, constitute, appoint and assign
Moses Sill his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, that I, my Heirs, Executors and Administrators shall and will, at any Time or Times hereafter, at the Request, Cost and Charges of him, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, make, seal, execute and deliver, all and every such Conveyance and Conveyances, delivered, all and every such reasonable Act and Acts, Thing and Things, Assurance and Assurances, as the [undecipherable] for the perfect passing and conveying, for to have, or which I, my Heirs, Executors and Administrators, shall or may be intitled to, all and singular, the Lands and other the Premises, hereby granted and assigned unto him, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns for ever, as him or their Counsel Learned in the Law, shall reasonably be advised or required. And I do hereby make, constitute and appoint the said Moses Sill my true and lawful Attorney, irrevocably, to ask, demand, recover and receive of and from the United States, or from any particular State, or from any Person or Persons, arising by, from, or out of, their, or either of their books, Pay, arrears of Pay, Clothing, Rations, Rewards, Bounties, Gratuities, in the Matter of the said Service, whatsoever, and upon Receipt thereof, to execute and deliver sufficient and regular Receipts, Releases or Acquittances for the same, and to give and [undecipherable] Covenants and Assurances to the United States, to bargain, sell, release and confirm the said Lands, to the Purchasers or Purchasers thereof, his, her or their Heirs and Assigns for ever: And also to ask, offer and transfer all Certificates of Pay and Register or other Stock, as may hereafter Standing to my Name,
in the Books of the Treasury of the United States, or any particular State, for, or in Consequence of any Services as aforesaid, with Power of Attorney or Attorneys under him, for the Purposes aforesaid, to make, and substitute, and to revoke the same, and generally to do all and every Act and Acts, fully and effectually to all Intents and Purposes, as I might or could do by being Personally present, and to have done the Premises, hereby allowing, ratifying and confirming whatever my said Attorney, or his Substitute, or Substitutes shall, or may do, or cause to be done therein by Virtue hereof.
