KNOW YE, that I, Jacob Rouse late a private in first [undecipherable] Company [undecipherable] belonged to the first Penn[sylvania] [undecipherable] during the Service of the United States of America, for and in consideration of a Valuable Consideration [undecipherable] to me in hand paid as and before the ensealing and delivery of these Presents, by Samuel Mares — The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained sold remied, release, quit-claim, transferred and assign, and by these Presents do grant, bargain, sell remit, release, quit-claim, transfer, and assign to the said Samuel Mares and his heirs and assigns forever, all the right, title, interest, property, claim and demand which I now have, and all the right, title, interest, property, claim and demand which I, my heirs, executors or administrators, at any time hereafter may have to all the land which I am entitled to, and to all the lands which I or either of them may at any time claim by virtue of the Laws of the State of [undecipherable: probable reading "Pennsylvania"]; And Also all the lands which I am entitled to from the Commonwealth of [undecipherable: probable reading "Pennsylvania"] by reason of my former Service as a Soldier, any Act of that State whatsoever, or for the full [undecipherable] in the army of the united States of America, for and during the war with Great Britain and to every part and parcel thereof; And also to pay him or collect money for arrerages of clothing, rations, rewards, gratuities, prize monies, commutations or otherwife however due to me for my services aforesaid, for any Supplies furnished to the United States or to any one, Single fact. To have, hold, receive, take and enjoy the said lands, monies and other the Premises hereby granted and feoffed unto, and to and for the only proper use of the said Samuel Mares [undecipherable] his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, for ever And I the said [undecipherable] for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Samuel Mares [undecipherable] his heirs and alligns, that I the [undecipherable] Jacob Rouse [undecipherable] my heirs, executors, administrators [undecipherable] at any time or times hereafter, at the request, cost and charge of the said Samuel Mares [undecipherable] his heirs or alligns, make feal and execute, or caufe to be made, fealed and executed, all and every such reasonable acts, deed or deeds, thing and things, conveyance and conveyances, allurance and allurances in the law whatsoever, for the further and better aluring, and well-pleafing, transferring and alligning, all and singular the Premifes herein claimed and demand, which I the said [undecipherable] his heirs and executors and administrator may at any time hereafter have, of in and to the lands, pay, monies and premifes, to the ufe of the said [undecipherable] Samuel Mares and of in and to every part and parcel thereof, unto the said [undecipherable] and alligns, to the only proper ufe and behoof of the said [undecipherable] his heirs and alligns for ever, as his heirs and assigns, shall be reasonably devifed or required, or shall be made.
