Pittsburgh April 20th 1792 Dear Sir I have Received your favor of the 6th Ultimo together wt a Barrel of Sherry Wine & a Box of Six Reams Writing paper but the hands of Charles Anderson Waggoner– I am extremely sorrow that Mr. Darcey is not yet paid, I think Coll Hodgdon in the hurry of his business must have fagot to have directed the payment of these Acct as he told me that any thing of that kind, that I might want should be forwarded and Charged to me on Acct of Compensation for my services I pray you therefore don’t neglect to discharge all Dorceys Acct & be kind enough to assure him that I Expected he had been paid at the time the articles were purchased, I have paid anderson for Carriage of the Barrel & given him a Receipt for the paper– I have just Received your favor of the 7th of March & 13th of April instant, I had a letter from Col Hodgdon dated Fort Washington 10th Janry last in which he informs me that he should Set off from that place on his way to Philadelphia & should come by way of Pittburgh, & directs me to have my Acct ready for his Inspection, I have not Since heard from him, but am Expecting him every Hour.
