Philadelphia April 16th 1792
Sir
Agreeably to your Request I have endeavoured to make a Statement of the monies which I suppose from ever ought to have been paid by Brigadier General Sevier to the Levies from the Territory South of the Ohio and which I have considered as paid in the Statement of the Accounts of those Levies which are now lodged in your Office &c.
To the Contractor for Subsistence and for transportation of the Troops to Fort Washington estimated at . . . . . . . . . . . } 1750.
For Bounty paid 195 Men at 3 Dollars each 585.
For Militia pay to the Field Staff and Commissioned Officers and 195 Non commissioned Officers and Privates . . . . . . } 910 –
[underline: Dollars 3245]
I consider the Sum for the Contractor Service to be under the Amount which is received from Genl Sevier, if so, adding also the necessary expenses of the General I am of Opinion a balance will be due him provided he has made the proper payments agreeably to this Estimate and if he has not paid the Same that then the balance will be in favour of the Levies after the full Amount of my Statement is paid which is only conjectural But should it prove otherwise on a final adjustment of the Accounts, Payments, and necessary and legal Disbursements, I hold myself bound immediately to refund the Overplus with the Statement of the Same to your Office. — Have the honor to be with respect and Esteem Sir
