I have herewith enclosed by [undecipherable] Butler and Hartshorn Binneys Receipt for five hundred dollars Each, Together a Copies of the Oaths they have taken —
Capt Crawford is now in Town but has not yet taken the [undecipherable] Oath but
[undecipherable] Sum [undecipherable] declined —
Lieutenants Duncan — [undecipherable] are all on board a Kentucky Boat with himself and Detachment ready to set off for Gallipolis. Capt [undecipherable] just arrived [undecipherable] Embark on Board the same Boat with Lieutenant Duncan — as the River is now high will Reach Fort Washington in five days —
Captain [undecipherable] has favored me with a Copy of a Speech, delivered by him to [undecipherable] of the Indian Chiefs, at Fort Franklin — together with their Answer a Transcript of [undecipherable] those taken the liberty of [undecipherable] —
I have Contracted for six hundred [undecipherable] a part of the Boats last [undecipherable] —
shall have the whole Ready, agreeable to your [In]structions — a great number of those already Contracted for are now ready to [undecipherable] —
Lieutenant [undecipherable] is Expected here in a few days with a number of young Warriors [undecipherable] have engaged [undecipherable] the [undecipherable]. The Rifles are not yet Arrived from Lancaster. I have Received your form of the [undecipherable] Shall pay particular Attention to your Instructions therein.
