I have received Yours of the 28th Ulto and pray that there be not a moment delay a [undecipherable] the number of one hundred loads for which I have ordered you to contract.
I flatter my self that in all your contracts you will evince the most perfect regard for the interests of the public whether relatively to the price or perfection of the articles agreed for.
Messrs [undecipherable] & Maran have Iron works at Pittsburg and have offered it at _____ per Ton. If their bar Iron is as excellent as I have been informed I pray you to contract for Ten Tons to be delivered as fast as possible not exceeding the first delivery with the month of May, to be drawn to forge proper for 6 and 3 pounders Carriages and
also for bolts and the bars of the common [undecipherable].
If they cannot furnish the whole or in part let me know immediately.
