I am this Moment fav'd with yours of the 8^th. Inst. not a little Surprised at its Contents — Indeed I beg leave to trouble you with a Copy of the Packers Receipt for the Bags & other articles which I forwarded at same time to Col. Boone — also of Sam^d. Hachm[undecipherable]'s Receipt for the Amount of Carriage of the same which I had heard M^r. Groave had paid — the Keg of Shrub for gov^t. W. Absent — the latter acknowledges the receipt of [undecipherable] the Bags must I think have been sent by the same App^t. will you be so good as to further make Inquiries about them at Fort Washington — M^r. Boone to whom I have this Day written will give you on his part Every Information necessary to come at a knowledge of this mistake, which is the light I am as yet Induced to view it in. Should they Still be at Limestone he has my Directions to forward them to you Immediately — greater Dispatch could not have been made in Executing the order after y^r. Instructions came to hand.
