By direction of the Secretary of War, You are directed to pay, make or have drawn, five hundred adlars in [undecipherable] Notes of the amount of the United States, which is in account of the Paymaster Department, you are to take the claim of the Paymaster and make over to the Secretary of War a receipt for the same.
The Notes are of the following denomination Viz
No of 50 dollars from No 290 to No 345 making 400.—
Only 50 dollars from No 329 to No 933 100.—

I need to be informed that the large Notes will answer your purpose without going to the United States, I am attended by the first Officer of the Paymaster, or I am attending with difficulty that I can comply with the order of the Secretary of War, as the Bank is directed to check where the urgency of the Notes as required.
