I have received yours of the 26th ultimo —
I shall send a person apparently charged
to St. Clair's frontier upon Indian business.
Captain Craft's party having arrived
I hope will be well accommodated.
Upwards of 80 Barrels of powder
have been sent, and will arrive at Pittsburg
about the time of this letter — I pray you
to deposit it well, So that it may not receive
the least injury — this is a matter of
the highest importance, and neither pains
or expense [to be] spared, to keep it perfectly
Secure from injury by dampness or any
other cause. I would have the
powder in each cask, put into a flannel
bag, which shall be ordered to be sent you
before

put into a canvas bag, which must be
