The Secretary of War in his letter of this date has directed me to forward you five hundred dollars in Post Notes for the use of the Quarter Masters Department. You will therefore receive enclosed Ten Post Notes drawn in your favor of Fifty dollars each, all dated this day and Numbered from No 35 to No 44 inclusive payable 10 days after date — on receiving this Money you will transmit me, under cover to the Secy of War, a receipt for the same —
