Pay Office^e December 10^th 1791 Sir Your letter of the 28^th Ult^o was delivered me yesterday — the Certificates that were issued & signed for John Bonnet and John Shahan of Lee's Legion and delivered to M^r White as found on examination to have been cancelled at the Treasury; but it does not appear who first issued them or who disposed of them — our friend Richmond (who is much better) is of opinion that M^r White lodged the Certificates remaining in his hand sometime with M^rs Harwood or M^r Johnston, I have to request you will carefully enquire and use the receipt lodged by M^r White and endeavour if possible to find out who received the Certificates at that time — Agreeably to your request I have sent you a Copy of Captain Little Fenby's Account — I am Sir Your & J Howell Robert Denny Es^q Aid.
