Your two letters of the 2d Inst were handed me by Mr Hartshorn with some of the articles hereto for [undecipherable] which you had sent me one or more Nail Gimbletts one at least will be necessary in making the Doors &c.
I am Sorry so great a mistake was made in forwarding the Cloathing brought by the Pack Horses, those Bundles contains the Summer Cloathing of my company, the Shirts and Shoes Invented are contained in four Casks & one Box in Mr [undecipherable: Briths?] Store— I Shall request the General to let me have Shirts & Shoes out of those in Store here & have them returned out of mine at Fort Washington— Both Mr [undecipherable] & Hartshorn are to blame for this mistake— I send you by the Return of the Pack horses One Anvil— two Files— two Faggots of Nail rods— twenty Gross— Six [undecipherable]— two Casks of Nails— and twenty pairs of Horsemens Boots— which was all that remained in Store— I enclose you [undecipherable] More Recs— and I Shall use some of the Nails that remain
