Having had the command of the 2.d Batt.n of the 2.d Reg.t here is for some time at this place, I frequently called on M.r Warde Q. Master of said Batt.n to make a dividend of a num ber of Due Bills for Rations and compo= sition part of Rations due to the [undecipherable: probable reading "soldiers"] of said Batt.n he has carefully kept out of my way until the Men are now principally discharged and has generally not only made a private advantage of these Sums, but has also by the complaints of the Officers generally de[undecipherable: probable reading "frauded"] them also. I therefore beg you will consider this a Correct Case and his Pay until some notice to be made for those dues. Yours &c
