I beg leave to acknowledge the Receipt of your Letter of the 10th Instt directing the Pay Master to place in my hands the Money due for Pay and Subsistance up to the first of the Present Month. the same has been received. The Rendezvous I mention'd in my last I have not a doubt but it will meet the approbation of the Secy of War when fully explaind. by that means I obtained near twenty Men in the Month of June & July, when recruiting had been very thin particularly in the Eastern States — I shall proceed to beat Drum with what recruits we have in this City immediately — Shall with cheerfulness obey all orders from the Department of War —
