By directions of the Secretary of War I have transmitted you enclosed a draft on the Bank of New York for the Sum of One hundred & Seventy dollars & 46 Cents drawn by the Cashier of the Bank of No. America in my favor & by me endorsed payable to your order, which Sum is in full balance of your Account of Pay & Subsistence to the 1 Inst agreably to the enclosed Statement, in which you will observe that your Pay &c commences the 25th March last, the date of your Letter to the Secy of War signifying your acceptance of the Commission —
You will please to send me duplicate Receipts for this Sum by separate posts under Cover to the Secretary of War —
