I have been on the point of losing the Virginia battalion — it is a considerable time ago that I know of some discontents in that Corps, but was led to believe it was among the officers only on account of the appointment of Captain Daeke; whereby a Mr Glen an officer who has [undecipherable] a number of men and was respected, became a supernumerary and [strikethrough: out of command] the giving him an appointment in [undecipherable]
