Philadelphia Sep 8th 1791 —
In consequence of your departure from Fort Pitt I have received no letter from you by this days Post —
I am this day loading two Boats of Bars in Pigs, and four hundred [undecipherable] Iron [undecipherable] to Pittsburg — these will be delivered to Major Craige by Lutterlons & Brothertons Waggons, and also a Box containing One hundred Belts with Collars & Buckles — which I have directed them to take on from Samuel Diges in Lancasville which he informed me were ready to be delivered when called for — these are all that have been forwarded, but what I have informed you of before
I have had a little leisure this eight or ten days past & have been engaged in getting up the Books — the Cash Account is nearly off — after which I shall immediately proceed in entering the accounts, Fines — The directors of the New Bank have taken the Carpenters Stock at [undecipherable]550 P annum — the Carpenters Company are now engaged in erecting a new Brick building where Thompsons Shop stands they get very [undecipherable] — thus they say is to be compleated in November the War Office is to be kept in this new building, and to enable them to go on expeditiously it is said the Directors are to pay one years Rent in Advance — the General has Sold the Shop to Thompsons, which is to be moved off the ground Immediately — the other old building are all to be taken down
