Whereas two thousand Paires of Shoes, are immediately wanted for Public use — We the underwritten do hereby Promise — engage — and Obligate ourselves, to furnish the above number of Shoes at Seven Shillings pr Pair, to be large — strong, and well made — and in general equal in Size, Quality, and Workmanship, to a Pair produced by us as a Sample, and now lodged at the War Office — the whole number of Shoes to be delivered at the Quarter Masters Office in Philadelphia, within thirty days from the date hereof — and to be inspected by, and approved of, by such Person, as may be appointed for that purpose by the Secretary of War,
