[Six Lectures.]
Providence 25. June 1791.
Sir
I have been Honored with your Letter of 21 May covering dispatches for the President of the Rhode Island Society of the Cincinnati. The Subjects you are pleased to communicate for consideration are particularly interesting, and you may be assured Sir that they will receive an early answer before this little Society, the result of which I trust will be correspondant with your wishes and the true Interest of the General Cincinnati for which I have the highest veneration —
Your favor of 15th Inst. on the behalf of my aunt has also been received — the result of your Governor Thomas is such as I had reason to expect from your Polite and [undecipherable: courteous] and is perfectly satisfactory to me — the remaining of Forty five Dollars now due me I shall draw (since its incident be [undecipherable: convenient] as I propose) as soon as a safe off'r ultimately offer —
I have the Honor to be
Respectfully Sir your Most Obt Hu. St
[undecipherable] Olney
Henry Knox Esqr. Secretary of War.
