Know all men by these presents, that I Philip Frederick Picard — late a Dragon in [Captain] Bartholom[ew] Van Heir Company of Dragoon[s] — in the service of the United States of North America hath made ordained and constituted and by these presents do make ordain and constitute, and in my place and stead, put and depute M^r Gotlieb Christine of Buck County and of the State Pennsylvania — my true and lawful attorney, irrevocable for me, and in my name and stead, but to the sole use of him the said Gotlieb Christine and to — his heirs and assigns forever; to ask, demand, and by all lawful means recover and receive all such sum or sums of money, as well as grants or confirmations, lands and tenements, or other demands whatsoever by the United States, or the State of Pennsylvania — or any other person or persons acting under their authority, and I also give and grant unto my said attorney full power and absolute authority, to sell and dispose of all and singular the lands, tenements, gratuities and donations, which I may be entitled to, or of right may claim. in virtue of any act of the United States in Congress assembled, or under the authority of them or the State of Pennsylvania — for or by reason of my having served in the said Captain Bartholomew Van Heirs regiment of the Company of Dragoons line, and by good and sufficient assurances in the law, to grant convey and confirm, to the purchaser or purchasers, the fee simple and inheritance thereof [undecipherable] anting unto my said attorney, full power and authority to appoint one or more [undecipherable] them, for the purpose aforesaid; ratifying and confirming all and [undecipherable] said attorneys shall or may do in [undecipherable] by virtue hereof [undecipherable] [undecipherable] in the year &c.
