Sir,
I have received yours dated at little Creek 13 Miles East of Pittsburg on the 17th instant.
As the Virginia Series are marching infront, Arms and as it appears from your last letter there may be some danger on the rout to Pittsburg, it will be all important that you use the utmost troops in such manner as to prevent a precipitation of injury to the uncovered horse or the troops which are on their way to Fort Pitt.
You could detach arms accroutrements and Ammunition to meet the Series before they arrive upon dangerous ground.
I have directed Arms decontrements and Ammunition to be forwarded to the Maryland Series, and I would so do by the Virginia Series which appears from information from Mr Swan and Colonel Darke that all the Virginia Series would be in motion before the first of June 110 miles to march from Winchester on the 7th so that they will arrive at Fort Pitt perpenicy to this letter. The news from Harrison and Trenton will also the arms.
