Niagara 6th May 1791
Sir.
The enclosed Speech to what passed Between myself and the Chiefs of the Six Nations at Buffalo Creek which I hope will merit your approbation.
I had not the opportunity of Delivering the private instructions to Mr Proctor, but from the conversation I had with him I was made to be pleased at all Events, as I should know of the Indians accompanying to the Miamis River, from thence to the Ohio — he talked of hiring a Merchant Vessel to carry him to Presq'isle and told me he hoped to Deliver it to Colonel [undecipherable] in his way by perusing the Indians from station, thinking of being, he also said he expected to be supported by the Church to the Lake from Government if he should want there.
I am now three days prevented me from getting to you, that is to say I feel that the 6th from Buffalo Creek, hope to be able to see you tomorrow.
I have the honor to be Sir
Your Most Obedient Servant
