Niagara 18th May 1791.
Sir
A few days ago I had your letter of the 5th Ulti— by which I should have returned an immediate answer, had I not waited for some Public Papers, which you wrote were to be handed to me by the Arrow [?]etter, and other Chiefs, who were to wait upon me, to receive your advice to [undecipherable] of importance—
They have however never made their appearance at this fort—
I think it not proper to give you [undecipherable] a plantation of my not having sooner replied to your letter, but as there is no document which places you in any other light than as a man of merit, I am not under any necessity, to a feeble erasure!
My answer due— The Most of the Menear & those of the Six Nations Spoke to me for Council, that the [undecipherable] whole advise, as I conceive, that I not write the present situation of Affars—
As to that Part of your letter, which relates to the [undecipherable] bringing out of the whole [undecipherable]
