[undecipherable] Philadelphia 25th April 1791 Sir Enclosed you have an Invoice of five Pieces of Ordnance whih left this for your Post to day,–you will give receipts particularly Noticing the implements and the Order in which all is received– Ten Companies march toMorrow for Pittsburg– I shall want a considerable Number of Boats to transport Men and stores down the Ohio– W wish you to look round and know at what rate those suitable for such service can be obtained for Capt [undecipherable] leaves this for Carlisle toMorrow, on his way for Pittsburgh when he arrives with his advise and assistance I wish you to engage as many Boats as may be Necessary to take [undecipherable] the Companies and stores I have mentioned above–they must be of the best kind, and at the lowest possible rate they can be afforded for, as the most rigid Ecconnemy is expected in all the the expenditures for the present expedition. I shall probably come forward my self in about three weeks, at which time the engagements you make for Boats shall be fulfilled I must favor you to take special care of all the stores forwarded, as on their good estate the success of our enterprise depends.
