[undecipherable] Biddle, to which I have attended, in my Letter of the 23 Ult. I mentioned my having been Under the Necessity of Issuing one Hundred Musquete Bayonets & Cartouch Boxes, to a Committee of the Inhabitants of Pittsburgh, there seems now to have been [undecipherable] [undecipherable] [undecipherable], to whom Col. Biddle's Order has been directed, as part of the Amount of that Order, and I am to have credit for them Accordingly. General St Clair is not yet Arrived, but is Expected hourly — Col. George Gibson who has been here, says he Expects I shall find Quarters for his Recruits as they Appear at this Port. As your Orders to me do not fully Extend to that Business, have to request further Instructions, in the mean time shall on that Respect Execute the Orders of the Commanding Officer of the Troops. Sir I am Apprehensive that my Return of Stores of the 1^st [undecipherable] March last not Reached the War Office, at the time the Order was drawn in favor of Col. Biddle, as there was [undecipherable] Lead on hand, but Musquet Ball, at this Post.
