Ohio County, March 23^d 1791 Sir I Received your letter of the 3^d of March on the [undecipherable] a few days Before I Received yours. I received orders from the government of Virginia to order out Fifty men, and or two Officers, which I had done as yours came to hand, and which Number of men I Shall continue under [strikethrough: Commissioners] [undecipherable]. After consulting the [undecipherable]mant of Washington County, [undecipherable] the following determination [undecipherable] the men in such a manner as would best cover both Counties, I made [The Hon. Henry Knox Esq^r.] made a Contract with John M^cIntier for Supplying the men with Rations at Eight Cents p Ration We Labour under Some disadvantages for want of Ammunition.
