The inclosed Letter is from our friend Bon, partly on Business, & partly to sollicit on behalf of his Son Mr Samuel Andrews that he may be appointed an Ensign to the vacancy of Mr Joseph [undecipherable]. Mr Andrews is our friends friend for, he is a young Man of Education and the one [who] studied Law with him, and is now Practicing in his Office; he is about 22 years of age, he is of good Character, and Active, and in every respect capable of making a good Officer. he is very desirous and anxious to engage in the Military Service, and is all [strikethrough: to] too to follow the Drum & Fife —— your influence in obtaining an Ensigney for him, will be very gratifying to all his friends, as well as himself — I therefore pray you that he [may] not be disappointed, as I [undecipherable] there will be no difficulty in your [undecipherable: recommending] him to the President.
