[War department 16^th March 1791 respects Pleuman & Warner] [stamp] War department March 16^th 1791 Sir Your favor of the 5^th instant enclosing a copy of a certificate of John Saco G^o. with respect to Wareham Warner as Invalid Pensioner came duly to hand The return of the State of Massachusetts dated Nov. 9^th 1790 and signed by John Avery has been examined and it appears that the said Wareham Warner was returned at 9⅔ monthly allowance whose amount as near as folible to $1 1⁰⁰ is mentioned in the list transmitted to you opposite his name and at the same rate to have been rendered, last year, both for the first and second months to Benjamin Lincoln Esq^r As it does now appear from the Copy of the certificate of M^r Avery, that an error has taken place in the said return of the State on which the list transmitted was founded.
