Know all men by these presents That I John Chipman of Middlebury in the County of Addison and State of Vermont do by these presents constitute and appoint Samuel Brush Esq my lawful attorney for me & in my stead to transact all business concerning a certain certificate signed by Col Seth Warren certifying that there is due to me three thousand four hundred and twenty seven dollars for Bounty money paid for recruiting in his the Sd Warrens regiment it being for money paid in recruiting by the Sd Samuel Brush as Lieutenant in my Company in said Regiment and I do hereby impower Sd Samuel in my [strikethrough: stead] stead to ask for & receive the pay on the same & convert the same to his own use as witness my hand and seal the 5th day of March 1791
