Dear Sir, The inclosed I presume will speak for themselves — they are two of many applications upon some subject — and many more expected — I can do neither better, nor otherwise than to refer them to you for answers. Some attention is most assuredly due to the applications — and I think a mode should be pointed out for a redress — considerable are the deficiencies — and unless a mode is marked out I cannot continue finding on applications to you. My Settlements will point out all those that are entitled, and which I presume should be the rule of conduct in forming this Report — and some being regarded and provided for, while others later in Service, or on same duty and with same Regiment are disregarded gives cause of complaint — for my own sake, as well as from motives of justice I pray again taking this business into consideration, and let me know how when and from whom payment will come — I am tired of being harplexed with the frequent applications and hard language sometimes used — pray attend — In great haste — I am as usual Your sincere friend & H[umble] S[ervant] [undecipherable: A.
