This may certify that we the Chiefs of the Stockbridge Tribe of Indians residing at this place are knowing to very great sufferings by disorders among our neighbours the Brother town Indians — and do earnestly wish that the good people of this State would interpose and do something effectually for this their relief —
We further certify that we have long been acquainted with the characters and conduct of Elijah Wampey and Thomas Pychauee — we believe they have spent much of their [undecipherable: probable reading "Substance"] in seeking the good of their Town we believe according to the best information in our hands and have [undecipherable] that they have the good of their people now in view we beg that credit may be given to their representations as men of loyalty and uprightness
