Capt. Steel having Saild from hence on the 25th Octr last with the fourth load of Military Stores for west Point, and as he has not yet Returned it will now be Impracticable, to Transport the fifth & last load of Stores agreeable to the Contract Returns untill the Opening of the Spring. this load when forwarded will take all the Remaining Stores & compleat
I now Inclose you my Acct. with the News for Vouchers against U. States Note. for advances made and for my Services as Superintendent of the Public Stores & for Collecting & Cartg to the Landing for transportation. I also Inclose you an Acct. from Messrs. Jona. & William Russell & Such & Nightingale, for the Rent of their Powder Magazine on which they have Drawn an order in my favr. to Receive the amount Owed, which with my Acct. makes 445 Dollars. I shall be particularly Obliged Sir if you will Transmit me by the Post or other Safe Conveyance, a Draft, for the amount, which I will Immediately Return Such Receipts as you think Proper & Point —
