There is an old friend of yours Mrs Wilson a Daughter of the late Mr Morehead who desires me to present her respects to you & inform you of her present Circumstances, She has a considerable Sum in Continental Securities & has [undecipherable: Some/tried] hard to keep them, though [undecipherable: hard-]pressed, in hope of their being better in the [past/post] has read that Some public Creditors have made application to Congress for the Interest due to them & She wishes for your Advice whether it would be proper for her to make any Such Application. In tenderness to the good woman I would not refuse complying with her request... you will doubtless consider it with that tenderness which it deserves & I hope your answer will enable me to Administer Some balm of Consolation to the afflicted Widow.
