To furnish the Men I have therefore thought fit and thereby to promote the Interests of the United States to consent that the same be carried into execution For which purpose I do hereby (In the absence of his Excellency the Governor of this Territory) Authorize the several County Lieutenants of the District aforesaid to raise by draught or as Volunteers for the Occasion a body of mounted Militia not exceeding in number Twelve hundred men (Seal) Given under my hand & seal at fort Washington in the County of Hamilton and Territory of the United State North West of the river Ohio this 29th day of Novr in the year of our Lord 1790 Jos.
