Hartford 27^th Novem 1790. Sir, Inclosed herewith is transmitted to you two Resolutions of the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut. No 1 dated last May directing the Settlements to be made and compensations allowed to the Agents for paying Final Settlements Certificates to the Officers and Soldiers of the late Connecticut Line It— No 2. directing me to inform [you] of the Balance due from Capt. John Sherman one of the [undecipherable] to No 3. is an abstract shewing the settlements made by the Agents &. No 4. Contains the sums paid to the Agents and charge the United States.—— No 5. contains a list of [undecipherable] Officers and Soldiers with the sums of Certificates to their names amounting to Sixteen Thousand seven Hundred ninety Dollars and twenty three ninetieth parts of a Dollar now in the hands of Capt John Sherman unaccounted for and for which he Stands indebted to the United States. Messer. [undecipherable] who have his claims for compensation on account of his agency accompanied with your letter dated 22^nd April 1790 to [undecipherable] [undecipherable] Certificate dated 30^th June 1790 that he has [undecipherable] nothing which is wantingly allowed [and] paid and charged to the United States; not a doubt existing that the same is as clearly within the provision of [our] Assembly No 1 alluded to.
