Questions to the Natife King 1^st Were you present at the treaty of Co[undecipherable]contau in the Year 1785 Yes. 2 Were any [persons] of the one [nation then] properly [given]? On [those] only all [parties] — the Cok[undecipherable]fusfkee men pro[perly] represented but the whole [undecipherable] who was [put] there most of before it papers were [found] but there were common [undecipherable] from three other [towns] without any authority 3^d Did you and the others in behalf of the creek nation cede all the Lands to the eastwards of a line to be drawn from the [ocone] and [ochu]mulgee Rivers to the head of the St[undecipherable] Mary's River? There was much debate upon that Question, but I and the others never [consented] content to that [strikethrough: tried to [undecipherable]] to destroy the paper while the man was [writing] [undecipherable] couldn't [we were] prevented. [This is also confirmed by the Ar]wagola King who was present but who would not sign. 4^th Had you a right to cede the Land? [I] told them respecting all the Lands the [ocone] as well as the St. mary's I had no right, that the Lands belonged to the whole body of the nation — and that whatever they should decide on the next general meeting, must be the answer of the nation. In [June] 1785 the [ocone] cession was reported to the nation and protested against unanimously 85 [clans] being present — this protest was sent to Governor [Houston] who acknowledged to have received the same as [alleged] by M^r. M^cGillivray. 5^th Were you at the Shoulder Bone treaty in 1785? Yes. 6^th Had the Georgians any Warriors there? A great many but they would not suffer us to go into their camp. 7^th Was there any threats or menaces made use of? None to individuals excepting to invade Creek country but they asked for the Lands when we told them we would not give them up. — They also demanded some lives — which we told them we could not give — but they took some hostages untill we should do it.
