Sir,
In answer to your two letters dated June 15. 1790 I now enclose two Certificates Should be happy if they me in any Service to the Orphan Children for whom you had chosen to receive them. I have Searched all the Papers and Books on this and at the Secretary's Office and the memorials of the late Govt. Trumbull who has examined of Safely and carried past the appointment of Capt. Robert Lawson.
In Octr. 1776 he was by our General Assembly nominated for a 1st Lieut. on Col. Charles Webb's Regt. had nomination of the Officers for the new Assembly the Upon He committed to the Gov. and council of Safety for their arrangement whoever suffered many alterations from that it was Removed to the Continental Officers of this State who continued through the Winter of 1777 filling up vacancies and makeing appointments — The first of those only is he well answered a new return to the Honorable Office his untimely death I suppose prevented his being taking notice of in our State. I am free in mind of Lieut. Isaac Know — I have the honor to be your most Obt. Insignificable Servt.
