Schaffer for Ab^m Harnuch Apr 20. 1797] Know all Men by these Presents, That I, James Davidson & Abraham Harnuch, Late Soldiers [undecipherable: in the Pennsylvania Line] in the Service of the United States of America, for a valuable and full Consideration to me in hand paid, as or before the Execution hereof, by [undecipherable] the Receipt is hereby acknowledged, Have, and by these Presents, Do grant, bargain, sell, release, transfer and assign unto him, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns for ever, all the Right, Title, Interest, Property, Claim and Demand, which I now have, or which [their] Heirs, Executors or Administrators, may at any Time hereafter have, to all and singular the Lands, Pay, Arrearages of Pay, Chatteage, Rations, Rewards, Bounties, Gratuities, Prize-Money, and other Demands, due and owing to me, from the United States, or from any particular State, And do hereby for [My W---] Heirs, Executors and Administrators covenant and agree to and with the said [undecipherable] his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, that I, my Heirs, Executors and Administrators, shall and will, upon the Request and at the Expence of the Releasee, Call and Delivery of him, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, make, seal, execute and deliver, or cause or procure to be made, sealed, executed, delivered, all and every such reasonable Act and Acts, Thing and Things, Conveyance and Conveyances, Assurance and Assurances in the Law, for the perfect granting, conveying, releasing, transferring and assigning all and singular the aforesaid Property, Claims, Demands aforesaid, which I have, or which I, my Heirs, Executors or Administrators, may at any time hereafter have, of, in and to, all and singular, the Lands and other Demands, hereby granted, released and assigned, to him, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns for ever, as by his or their Council learned in the Law, shall be reasonably advised, devised or required. And it is hereby [undecipherable] the said [undecipherable] or his Substitutes to be [undecipherable] our true and lawful Attorney, irrevocably, to make, demand, recover and receive, of and from the United States, or from any particular State, and of and from any Person, acting as the Treasurer thereof, or other of their Authority, all and singular, the Lands, Pay, Arrearages of Pay, Chatteage, Rations, Rewards, Bounties, Gratuities, Prize-Money and other Demands, due and receivable to me and on my Account from them, or any manner of Pay or Money whatsoever, and upon Receipt thereof, to execute and deliver sufficient and responsible Receipts, Releases and Acquittances for the same, and by all such lawful Means, Ways and Measures in the Law to grant, bargain, sell, release and confirm the said Lands, to the Purchaser, or Purchasers thereof, his, her, or their Heirs and Assigns for ever, and also to sell, assign and transfer all such State or other Securities, or other Stock, as are hereafter Standing in [undecipherable] Name, [undecipherable] or value Stock, as are hereafter Standing in [undecipherable] Name, [undecipherable] IN WITNESS whereof [undecipherable] hereunto set [undecipherable] Hand and Seal, [undecipherable] day of [undecipherable] in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety.
