[undecipherable] papers / Gen'l Knox / May 29 [17]90 / [undecipherable]] War Office May 29^th 1790 Sir, I have received a letter from Susanna Britt Wife of Edmund Britt an Invalid Pensioner residing in the Town of Boston inclosing a petition to the President of the United States Setting forth, that her husband, being gone at Sea for the benefit of his health, left with her a power of attorney to receive his pension, but that this power being Stolen out of her desk with Sundry other papers, She could not produce the necessary Vouchers to receive the said pension, wherefore on application made to You and [strikethrough: undecipherable] the payment was refused.
