Sir I have been honored with your fav^r of 14^th Ins^t. notifying the Triennial General meeting of the Cincinnati to be held in the city of Philadelphia on the first monday of May next of which we shall take notice; it was my intention to have had the Honor of attending this meeting myself, but I am prevented by an extream bad cold which has for some time confined me to the house, Col^t Peck or Maj^r Lyman will attend the meeting as a delegate from this State Society — our finances being small has induced the Necessity of sending but one Delegate — [marginal note: extracted to the War Office] Your fav^r of 9^th Ins^t. acknowledging the Receipt of a Return of Invalid Pensioners of Rhode Island, has also been Rec^d. I omitted mentioning in my letter of 2^nd Ins^t: that the four additional Invalids lately re-inspected were discharged from the Army on a bounty of Five dollars each — I have the Honor to be with esteem Sir Your Most Ob^d.
