Sir,
I have just received a letter from the Secretary at War directing that immediate application be made to you [strikethrough: at head of the Department of Treasury for] for the sum of 2242 dollars, for two months pay on account to the Officers & Men of two Companies of Artillery & one of Infantry now at West Point — 1121 dollars of which he requests [strikethrough: provision] may be made [strikethrough: for to] provided immediately and that [strikethrough: and] a Warrant may issue on the Collector for the State of Georgia for the remainder.
