The Commissrs of Army Accounts to whom was refer'd by the Secretary at War the Petition of Edward Thomson — Beg leave to Report —
That By the Muster Rolls of the Regt late Evn Hazens, It appears that the Petitioner inlisted himself a private Soldier on or about the 1st March 1777 —
That by on the Settlement of the accounts of said Regiment by the Commissrs of Army Accounts it appears that the Petitioner has been included for his Pay, Deficiency of Cloathing, & Gratuity from the 1st of Augt 80 until the conclusion of the War and that [strikethrough: amount to] 338 dollars Certificates therefor [strikethrough: were] were drawn to John Nicholson Esqr Comptroller Genl of Penna. in pursuance of a requisition from the Executive Council made under the Act of Congress of the 11th Octr 85 —
The Commissrs of Army Accounts is therefore of opinion that the Petitioner has no claim upon the United States except what humanity might recognize. But as he has been consider'd of the Quota of Pennsylvania and he does not appear to have been concluded in the accounts of that State for Depriciation of Pay that he has an equitable Claim thereon upon the Commonwealth to be calculated from the 1st Mar: 777 to 1st Aug: 80 —
