Danville, 13:th Mar: 1790

[main text] “In the month of janury: a boat with about ten perÅ¿ons were out off about fifteen miles above LimeÅ¿tone; nine found dead in the boat and one woman miÅ¿sing, during the maÅ¿sacre a boy who was a priÅ¿oner made his escape, he was up Dicking, being out with two men on a hunting party who were killed. These men were killed about the Å¿ame time in the wilderneÅ¿s between Rickland creek and Stinking creek on the road two [illegible]. Old John Sloan and and his Å¿on were killed on the head of the Rollingfork. One man killed on the Holiss. A Å¿tation on RuÅ¿sell’s creek was attacked about the 25th: of the month; Isaac & Nathan Farris, a Å¿on of Isaac Farris: John Painter and one other man killed, a negro wo- man, a white woman wounded and a number of horÅ¿es have been taken, but I can’t enumerate them; One Harper was killed on State creek.”

“In february one man was killed at the Mudlick, one killed at the mouth of the Ken- tucky and the people have evacuated the Å¿tation from fear. In this month I have only heard of one man killed & one wounded on the Rolling fork. But from various reports there is too much reaÅ¿on to fear they will be hoÅ¿tile this Å¿pring.”
