I have so far Stated the Accounts of the Corps of Artillery commanded by Major Bauman in the Year 1784 as to ascertain the balances due the officers — in this Statement it there appears the sum of One hundred and thirty seven [undecipherable] dollars and 9[undecipherable] due Lt & [undecipherable] Joseph Bliss — [strikethrough: their gentlemen] with your approbation, I will pay this balance from [strikethrough: having incurred an expense from it forward to bill the] moneys left in my hands yesterday or [strikethrough: by letter] by Lieut.
