Winslow Warren — Boston Augt 6th 1790 —
Sir
I will take the liberty to interrupt Your Attention to Your important concerns by repeating a request which I had the honour to make sometime since — It is reported here that there will shortly be an augmentation of the troops in the United States service, if my inclination for a military life continues, I must beg of You to interest Yourself in my favour. —
Should the Colonels of Regiments nominate their Captains, may I hope for Your friendship in mentioning me — If I am so fortunate as to obtain Your patronage upon the occasion — it will lay me under great Obligation of well [strikethrough: remembrance] of friendship & Attention to my family — I am with the greatest
