Office of Army Accounts New York 3rd July 90 Sir On the 26th Jan’y 1785, Captain David Bushnell, late agent for the Corps of Sappers & Miners, settled his accounts of agency, by on which settlement it appears the sum of twenty thousand nine hundred & forty one dollars in certificates were delivered & filed by him to the officer in command, officers and privates of 1st Corps. The Act of Congress of 6 Sep 1786 having authorized a [undeciperable] of one /[per]cent to the agents not apportioning to every State on their respective share of certificates. I do hereby certify in presence of [undecipherable] that the sum of two hundred and nine dollars and forty one cents appeared here the said Capt. David Bushnell.
