Request for Camp Kettles and Straw
Document 1790Informs the Secretary at War Henry Knox that Lt. Privee has requested camp kettles and straw for his men at the garrison. Tells Knox that there are only two camp kettles at the store and that straw can be purchased for 3 to 4 pence per bundle.

Sir/
Lieut Pierce has made application to me for Camp Kettles and Straw for the men in this Garrison– Their is but two Camp Kettles in store that is fit for service– if you should think proper that straw should be provided for the men it can be got at about 3d or 4 pence per Bungle– I wish to be in formd how much will be allowed to each man, and how often
