Wilmington Dec.^r 30^th 1789 Sir, Your favor of the 23^d instant, and sundry Papers sent therewith, came duly to Hand, and agreeably to your request I now transmit the Accounts rendered by M^r Yeates late Paymaster of the Delaware Regiment. Not being furnished with a Clerk, and receiving but a small salary from the State, I cannot undertake to Copy them; but send them as they came into my hands. If the State should have occasion for Copies of any of the Accounts or receipts you will, no doubt, be so obliging as to furnish them. I observe Col.^o Pope has settled with M^r Yeates for 592 dollars he received from George Reads Esq^r. Lieut James Campbell received the 260 dollars from George Read Esq^r. which are charged to Capt. Anderson, and has accounted for them in a Recruiting Account, N^o 2 rendered to John White late district Commissioner, except a balance of 19 5/90 dollars, which he acknowledges as a debt due to this State. Wilmington January 11^th 1790 Sir, I now inclose an account ^{No 1.} settled by Major John Patton with John Yeates which is authenticated by his affidavitt — another amount ^{No 2} also inclosed with inlistments [strikethrough: for his men]. I also inclose sundry inlistments for Capt. Thomas Hollands Company amounting to 720 dollars. & He rec.^d 520 dollars from George Read Esq^r. You will recollect he was killed at Germantown — There is also inclosed Rob^t Kirkwood's affidavitt respecting the expenditures of £97:10:0 which he received from George Read Esq^r likewise 3 inlistments returned Capt John Cors, and [strikethrough: the same] [above line: an equal] number [strikethrough: returned] by which appears to belong to Major Joseph Vaughan's Company.
